Community Currency Workshop in Toronto - Invitation

Hello Everyone!

I'm writing to let you know about a free one-day Community Currency (CC)
Workshop we're organizing for early 2005.  The goal of the workshop is:

* to generate awareness of alternate economic models and CCs in general

* to find out the needs of the Toronto community that a CC can address

* to be the kick-off to creating a new community currency for Toronto
The people involved so far in creating the workshop are mainly from the
now defunct LETS Toronto group. The idea to create a workshop came
out of  a meeting held in July 2004 on how to proceed with a stagnated LETS
Toronto.

We decided that creating a new community currency would be more fruitful
than trying to revive the old LETS Toronto.  We thought starting
off with a workshop would be the best way to move forward.

There are two ways you can get involved:

(1) As a participant.  Send an email to sean@yip.org letting us know
you'd  like to attend.  We're not looking for a firm commitment - rather we're
trying gauge the interest and determine how many people we should
build  the workshop for.  The workshop will happen in early 2005.

(2) As a workshop developer.  If you're interested in helping to develop
the workshop, please do one or both of the following:

(i) the first is to subscribe to the newly created mailing-list by
sending a message to copperjackets-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
This  mailing-list is an open mailing-list and any subscriber can post to it to
discuss the workshop.  Please check out
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/copperjackets/ for more information.

(ii) the second is to join us for our first planning meeting at Metro
Hall in room 305 on Thursday, September 23, 2004 at 7:30pm.  Metro
Hall is  at 55 John Street in Toronto (St. Andrews Subway stop).

For more information please write to sean@yip.org.

Thanks a lot and we look forward to hearing from you,

Sean
